In this paper the ill-posedness of Shannons sampling theorem is discussed and a regularized sampling algorithm for band-limited signals is presented. The convergence of the regularized sampling algorithm is studied and compared with Shannons sampling theorem by some examples. Diestel, Geoff, University of South Carolina Title: Maximal Bilinear Singular Integral Operators Associated with Planar Sets Abstract: Bounds for dyadic maximal operators are obtained for dilations of polygons and certain planar sets with smooth boundaries. In the case of polygons, the dyadic nature allows for some stronger results as well. Gatto, A. Eduardo, Institution: DePaul University Title: Lipschitz Spaces and Singular Integrals Associated to Non-doubling Measures Abstract: In 1916 Privalov proved that the Conjugate Function is a bounded operators on Lipschitz Spaces. In this talk we extend this result to Singular Integral Operators on a metric space with a nondoubling measure. Goldberg, Michael, Johns Hopkins University Title: The Schrödinger Equation with a Large Magnetic Potential Abstract: Many estimates for solutions of the Schrödinger equation remain valid even in the presence of a large fixed magnetic field, provided the field strength decays fast enough away from the origin. Kovalev, Leonid, Texas A&M University, Department of Mathematics Title: Quasiregular gradient mappings Abstract: Complex gradients of solutions of certain elliptic PDE are quasiregular mappings. However, not every quasiregular mapping is a gradient, and I am interested in the properties specific to gradients. Partly based on joint work with Al Baernstein II. Utilizing the protein corona around silica nanoparticles for dual drug loading and release.
A protein corona forms spontaneously around silica nanoparticles (SNPs) in serum-containing media. To test whether this protein corona can be utilized for the loading and release of anticancer drugs we incorporated the hydrophilic doxorubicin, the hydrophobic meloxicam as well as their combination in the corona around SNPs. The application of corona-covered SNPs to osteosarcoma cells revealed t...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study of Compound Control Method around a Cylinder
In this work, the compound flow control method (passive and active) has been described. EHD actuators as wire-plate (active) and splitter plate (passive) were coupled and applied to control fluid flow and heat transfer around cylinder in cross flow. Investigation consists of the interaction between electric field, fluid flow and temperature field. Experimental tests included various positions o...
متن کاملThe nanoparticle protein corona formed in human blood or human blood fractions
The protein corona formed around nanoparticles in protein-rich fluids plays an important role for nanoparticle biocompatibility, as found in several studies during the last decade. Biological fluids have complex compositions and the molecular components interact and function together in intricate networks. Therefore, the process to isolate blood or the preparation of blood derivatives may lead ...
متن کاملMemprot: a program to model the detergent corona around a membrane protein based on SEC–SAXS data
The application of small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) to structural investigations of transmembrane proteins in detergent solution has been hampered by two main inherent hurdles. On the one hand, the formation of a detergent corona around the hydrophobic region of the protein strongly modifies the scattering curve of the protein. On the other hand, free micelles of detergent without a precisel...
متن کاملA proteomics-based methodology to investigate the protein corona effect for targeted drug delivery.
Here we introduce a proteomics methodology based on nanoliquid-chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (nanoLC/MS-MS) to investigate the "protein corona effect for targeted drug delivery", an innovative strategy, which exploits the "protein corona" that forms around nanoparticles in a physiological environment to target cells.
متن کاملDynamics and Energetics of Turbulent, Magnetized Disk Accretion around Black Holes: a First-principles Approach to Disk–corona–outflow Coupling
We present an analytic description of turbulent, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) disk accretion around black holes that specifically addresses the relationship between radial and vertical, mean-field transport of mass, momentum and energy, thereby complementing and extending numerical simulations. The azimuthal-vertical component of the magnetic stress is fundamental to an understanding of disk– coro...
